This week we finished our first sequence "The rainbow nation" and started the next one. On Monday we did our "Final Task" on this sequence and introduced the new sequence about Australia; while we were doing our report about Apartheid in turns, the rest of the class studied cartoons about "the first fleet" (that is the 11 British boats which arrived in Australia in 1788 with over 13000 people, most of which having been convicts).
On Thursday we separated the class in two groups : some people finished their Final Task and started preparing for the final exam and the others went with the assistant to work on Thankskiving.
On Friday we watched a video about the history of Australia. The video was an extract from the first episode of a series of documentaries about the first Australians.
For next week we have to go and find information on the web about the history of Australia.
Here are the cartoons we studied over our first session on Australia.
